SYNOPSIS:
Camp Unity will be an hour long documentary about music, dance, and theater students from different regions and sectarian and ethnic backgrounds in Iraq attending an American summer performing arts academy in the cities of Erbil and Suleimanya. Along the way, they overcome personal and cultural conflicts while improving their artistic skills and talents.
CONCEPT:
400 talented Iraqi youth travel across their war-torn nation and converge upon peaceful and prosperous Kurdistan to study with eight American music, dance and drama teachers. Arabs and Kurds, Sunni and Shia, Christian and Muslim, neither cultural conflicts, sweltering heat nor harsh dust storms cannot deter the dancing feet and harmonious voices of these vibrant youth.
Despite a number of obstacles, the students unite with each other and the American staff to learn Hip Hop, Jazz, Orchestra and Broadway and prepare for the big show…
